Nutella and Banana French Toast

Since I pin so many ideas to pinterest, my summer goal is to make at least one pinterest meal a week. This week I made nutella and banana french toast for breakfast this morning.

I adapted the recipe from this site:
http://www.navywifecook.com/2012/02/nutella-french-toast-with-strawberries.html

Ingredients:
2 slices of bread (I used italian)
Nutella
1 banana
1 egg
1/2 cup of milk
2 tbsp cinnamon sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp vanilla
nonstick spray (for the pain)

Directions:
Spread nutella on one slice of bread, top with bananas, then place the other slice of bread on top (like a sandwich). Whisk the rest of the ingredients together in a large bowl. Soak the bread for 20 seconds on each side. Place on medium high skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side. Top with remaining bananas. Serve with powdered sugar, if desired.

I thought there was enough flavor without maple syrup, but you could always add that if you desire.

The recipe is for one serving, since my husband doesn't like sweet things. Next weekend's breakfast will be something more savory. I did make him an egg and cheese sandwich though :)
